A literal representation of a journey through Lithuania, heading eastwards until the video tape runs out. The camera was mounted underneath the front of the car at an angle that captured both the micro-surface of the asphalt and fragments of the horizon. During the journey, night gradually fades and daylight emerges. No real-time or post-production editing was involved.

It is like maintaining the highest level of objectivity, similar to security cameras. However, the film looks more like a combination of a computer game and a road movie.

Road was presented in different contexts, including the World Wide Video Festival in Amsterdam, a philosophers’ conference on slowness and speed at the Open Society Fund in Vilnius and the Monolake live event at the CAC Vilnius, as well as in other screening situations and exhibition spaces.
